Second Harvest heading to Conception Junction

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - As Second Harvest Community Food Bank has spent much of the last few months making pop-up pantry stops in Nodaway County, they've received a helping hand.

Communications Coordinator Blake Haynes told KXCV/KRNW that the Missouri National Guard has taken the place of often-elderly volunteers amid the pandemic.

"Obviously they're serving in multiple ways while doing this, but it's just awesome to see their willingness to really dive right in...and making sure that they're giving back as much as possible," said Haynes.

Haynes says the Missouri National Guard will lead the food bank's distribution effort at the Jefferson C-123 School Building in Conception Junction, on July 20.
